What has Chinese Kung Fu got to do with brown rice?
The following video never fail to tickle and entertain me. 🙂 Enjoy!
I applaud the Ministry of Communication and Information (Singapore) for going to great lengths to promote the benefits of eating brown rice. It’s part of the government’s Let’s Beat Diabetes campaign.
Brown rice, which is a type of whole grain, is healthful not just for those at risk of diabetes but it’s recommended for everyone.
This is because brown rice is high in fiber, magnesium, phosphorus, selenium, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, and manganese. It’s low in fat and cholesterol-free.
Eating more brown rice helps you lose weight, guard against obesity, control blood sugar levels, helpful for constipation, increases your good cholesterol while lowering the bad cholesterol, etc.
White rice is obtained by removing the top layers of the grain – the bran layer and the germ. Through the refining process, the beneficial fiber, and several valuable vitamins and minerals, are lost.
As a result, you get refined starchy carbohydrates that can cause a greater increase in your blood glucose levels after a meal.
You can start living healthier today by switching to brown rice.
Choose organically grown brown rice as often as possible to reduce your exposure to harmful toxins in pesticides and herbicides, and arsenic.
